Impressive panorama at Lauterbrunnen, view from one of the waterfalls.
Lauterbrunnen valley is probably one of the most beautiful in Europe, if not the most beautiful. It is also the deepest U-shaped worldwide, with bluffs rising either side up to 1.000m higher. You can imagine why this one would be called Lauterbrunnen Wall, a massive 8km long pure vertical barrier in the landscape. It´s also quite wet, with 72 waterfalls in total. Several villages are situated in this valley, of which the most renown probably is Wengen, known for it´s challenging (worldcup) downhill skiing.
